Specific areas of interest are:

  • Genetics and genomics of common and rare diseases
  • HLA typing and immunogenomics  
  • Genetic epidemiology and Public health research on vitamin D deficiency and celiac disease (wheat allergy) 
  • Functional genomics

Presently the laboratory is focusing on understanding the genetics of autoimmune diseases, such as celiac disease, granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA, systemic small blood vessel vasculitis), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), vitamin D deficiency (VDD) and SARS-CoV-2 infection in human.
