  • Air pollution and atmospheric chemistry
  • Atmospheric aerosols
  • Biological Aerosols
Research Interests

My research interests pertain to air pollution, major air pollution sources, and composition analysis. Atmospheric aerosol particulate matter comprises a variety of inorganic and organic components arising from various natural and anthropogenic sources. The fate of these components in the atmosphere is diverse; I) they directly impact human health causing more than 8 million death globally, ii) their role in local meteorology and environment is significant, iii) various composition components impact the atmospheric processes, iv) impacts on agriculture, climate change and so on. My current research interest is on

  • PM concentration temporal variation and composition analysis
  • Characterization of inorganic and organic aerosol fraction
  • Identification of source tracers for PM source apportionments
  • Molecular analysis of organic aerosols from combustion and plant sources
  • Source apportionments of PM using receptor models
  • Understanding the impact on local events, winter smog, and fog, stubble burning issues on air quality and health
  • Characterization of bioaerosols or air biological material.
