Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Centre of Studies in Indic Civilization and Religious Traditions

The present society is being haunted by many challenges such as materialism, communalization, parochialism, lack of humanism, terrorism, degradation of environment etc. All religious scriptures have been guiding the human being to pursue the path of love, piety, humanity, goodwill, to be a good human being, sincere and honest towards one’s profession/occupation etc. The relevance and rationale of these studies lies in the inculcation of rationale and critical understanding among the students regarding values. In this backdrop, this Centre aims to provide graduates with a deep understanding of India's rich spiritual heritage. It will focus on equipping them with the skills to critically analyze the academic study of religion, comprehend the historical and contextual evolution of religious traditions, and appreciate the profound impact that religions have on contemporary society. Graduates will also have a deep understanding of primary texts, be able to conduct their own research, and actively engage with theological and philosophical writings.
