Important Instructions regarding Entrance Examination by DACE at CUP

Candidates are advised to read carefully and comply with these instructions, as also the instructions given by the Invigilator / Venue Superintendent / Supervisor at the examination centre.

  1. Reporting Time: Candidates are advised to reach their examination centre at least 30 to 45 minutes prior to the reporting time and cooperate with staff during security checks. No candidate will be allowed to enter the test centre after 20 mins. of commencement of examination in each session.
  2. Candidates must bring their Photo ID Proof in original for verification purpose. Photo ID Proof may include any one of the following:
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Election ID Card
    • Pan Card
    • Driving Licence
    • Photo ID issued by University or by the Employer
    • Passport
  3. IN ABSENCE OF ORIGINAL PHOTO ID PROOF, CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER IN THE EXAMINATION CENTRE PREMISES.
  4. E-Aadhar card is not valid for Photo ID proof for verification purpose.
  5. Candidate must bring the printout of the Admit Card to appear in the entrance examination.
  6. The candidates will not be permitted to leave the examination hall till the end of examination.
  7. Electronic devices, mobile phones, smartwatches, and other related items are banned items inside the exam halls and should not be carried.
  8. DACE at Central University of Punjab will not be responsible for any loss of any items of the candidates.
  9. Candidates are also advised to carry their own water bottles to stay hydrated during the exams.
  10. Candidates must adhere to all the COVID-19 safety protocols in place - Wear a mask at all times and maintain social distancing inside and outside the exam hall.

Syllabus and Pattern of Entrance Exam

  • The Entrance Exam will be based upon the syllabus of Preliminary Test of Civil Services Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission.
  • The Entrance Exam will consist of 100 Multiple Choice based questions which will cover both (General Studies Paper 1 and Ganeral Studies Paper 2 or CSAT) syllabi. 
  • The candidates has to tick the correct answer among given four options.
  • Each question will carry ONE mark each. 
  • Each question correctly answered will be awarded ONE mark and negative marking for each incorrect answer shall be ONE THIRD (0.33) of the marks assigned to a question.
