Objectives of the Cell
- To create awareness about IPRs
- To provide IPRs protection information, orientation and facilities to university researchers & scientists
- To guide & advise researchers on how to obtain & sustain patents and other forms of IP
- To support in getting necessary clearances from competent authorities while filing for IPR filing and technology transfer

About the Programme:
Resource person: Dr. D.P. Bhatt, Senior Principal Scientist and Head, IPR Group, CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi on “IP & Learning of true Research Culture: Some Basics” . More than 70 faculty/scholars and students attended the lecture.

Er Yashawant Singh Panwar, Director, Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC)- DST, New Delhi delivered the keynote address “Recent development in the areas of IPRs”. Ms Divya Kaushik, Scientist, Patent Information Centre (PIC), Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), Chandigarh also delivered lecture.

About the programme
Prof. Sushil Kumar Kansal, Dr S S Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engg. & Tech., Panjab University, Chandigarh gave orientation to the participants about research publications ethics. Dr Ashwini Siwal, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Law, Delhi University, Delhi discussed plagiarism and how to avoid it. Mr Kanan, Deputy Librarian, talked about the CUPB digital initiatives. Mr Bhupinder, Assistant Librarian, trained the participants on various Anti plagiarism softwares. Dr Preeti Khetarpal, Assistant Professor and registered patent trained the participants for patent literature searches on public databases.

About the Programme
Dr Yashwant Dev Panwar from Department of Science & Technology, GoI delivered lecture on “Deriving value of IPR in Academic Institutions” and Dr Yogmaya Verma from Biotech consortium India Limited delivered talk on “University Technology Transfer- Challenges and Opportunities”. More than 100 students, research scholars and faculty from different institutions participated in this programme.
- Inter-Departmental Quiz competition on “General Awareness on IPRs” on 8th Nov, 2019.
About the Programme
Quiz Competition on General Awareness on IPRs (Intellectual Property Rights) was held on 8th November 2019Friday. A total of 6 teams (3 students per team) from different departments challenged each other in Quiz Competition and competed in 6 rounds. Department of Biochemistry and Microbial Sciences grabbed the first position The teams from the Department of Psychology and Department of Law stood second and third respectively.

About the Programme
The activity was planned to celebrate world IP Day. The competition was held on 27th April through online mode. The theme of the competition was Innovate for Green future. Ten posters were submitted by the students for competition.
