CUPB Community Skill Development Centre
This centre came into existence to actualize vision of National Skill Development Mission into reality.
Under this the university has undertaken the following
- Vermicomposting
- Apiculture
- Sericulture
- Mushroom Cultivation
- Vermicomposting and Apiculture
- Vermicomposting and Apiculture were started on 7th May 2015. Sixty students were registered for both the courses. Fifty three students successfully completed the courses.
- After the completion of each cycle of vermicomposting approximately 2-3 quintal of manure was produced. So far 3 cycles were completed and approximately 8 quintal manure has been produced.
- For sustenance, the same is sold to horticulture wing of CUPB and others. Proper records of produce and sale are being maintained.

The raising and care of bees for commercial or agricultural purposes. Beekeeping (or apiculture, from latin: apis ”bee”) is the maintenance of honey bee colonies, commonly in hives, by humans. A bee keeper(or apiarist) keeps bees in order to collect their honey and other products that the hive produces(including beeswax, propolis, pollen and royal jelly), to pollinate crops, or to produce bees for sale to other beekeepers.
Apiculture was started with 10 beehives at CUPB
- So far three times honey has been extracted. Each time approximately 22kg of honey is extracted, filtered, packed and sold to the University Faculty and students.
- Money accrued was deposited in community development cell account.

- All the required articles for setting up of Sericulture laboratory has been purchased.
- Sericulture laboratory has been set up for rearing of silk worms.

- Mushroom cultivation
- Fungiculture is the process of producing food, medicines and other products by the cultivation of mushrooms and other fungi
Importance of mushroom cultivation
- Nutritional value: protien content,3.7% when fresh and 25-40% when dry Contain all essential amino acids, amides and lysine.
- Medicinal value: consumption of mushrooms slows down the spread and effect of cancer, heart disease, HIV/AIDS ( by boosting immune system)
- Income generation and
- Employment creation.
